2012 GMC Terrain in Orange County

new gmc terrain in orange countyIt’s no secret that Orange County loves the GMC Terrain. We see them all over the road. Last night I saw a commercial on ESPN about the all-new 2012 GMC Terrain. It occurred to me that in addition to the widespread evidence that Orange County loves the GMC Terrain, obviously GMC believes that it really has something solid to offer. The commercial had great production, concise brand messaging, and incredible appeal. I was affected so much that I wanted to share with you some of the changes from 2011 to 2012.

First, what’s not being carried over from 2011 to 2012 model years? Two of the 2011 colors are discontinued: Cyber Gray Metallic (GBV) and Merlot Jewel Metallic (GIS). Apparently GMC felt these colors were not conducive to the 2012 line-up. But fear not, 2012 GMC Terrain is still available in a wide variety of stunningly beautiful colors! Also, the UYE and UYZ audio systems which had an AM/FM/XM stereo with CD/DVD player has been discontinued to be replaced by better, higher quality audio systems (see below). Also done away with are the 18′ bright machined aluminum wheels (Q6D). These wheels will not be missed based on the wheels available on the new 2012 GMC Terrain.

Second, what are the new features for the 2012 GMC Terrain? Well, now the Terrain has a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. Technically speaking, it is (LEA) 2.4L DOHC, 4-cylinder SIDI (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) with VVT (Variable Valve Timing) (182 hp [135.7 kW] @ 6700 rpm, 172 lb-ft [232.2 N-m] @ 4900 rpm) E85 FlexFuel Capable with (FE9) Federal emissions only. Replaces (LAF). And for those worried about the awesome 2011 audio system that was discontinued, the 2012 GMC Terrain offers a new (UFU) Audio system, AM/FM/XM Color stereo with CD player, and an optional Audio system with Navigation (UEW). And the discontinued 18′ bright machined aluminum wheels are replaced with stunning 18′ chrome clad aluminum (RSX). Other changes include improved deep-tinted glass on all windows except for the windshield and front driver and passenger windows which have a light-tint.

So you can see why from a technical standpoint the 2012 GMC Terrain has lots to talk about. But the important factor is how you feel behind the wheel.
